About Wyatt

Hello there!

First, thanks for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope you read some interesting things here and let me know if there's anything I can do to make this blog better!

I am a student at American University in the Public Health Scholars Program. I am going to graduate with a Bachelors of Science in Public Health in the Spring of 2016, and plan to have completed all of the pre-medical requirements by then as well. Part of the Public Health Scholars program is spending a semester abroad, and I cannot be more fortunate than to spend my fall in Nairobi, Kenya. I will not only be taking classes but also have the extraordinary opportunity to intern at a local health organization. This blog is dedicated to comprehensively chronicling my semester.

A bit of background on myself: I am currently interested in the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, and Uniformed Services University. I want to go to medical school but my ultimate dream lies in practicing Epidemiology and being a leader in the field of public health.

I have experience interning at a local health district (The Champaign-Urbana Public Health District), a DC-based national non-profit (The National Coalition for the Homeless), and in the federal government (National Institutes of Health - National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke). I am always looking for opportunities to learn more about the public health arena, and love meeting individuals who have committed their lives to public health.

I hope you enjoy this blog, and thanks for following!
